Week 7 I Pads

I like the thought of every child having i pads. I also think sometimes we are over useing them, and our children are not learning things that they should. When I was looking at the different web sits I just loved this one. I think this was great way of using the i pads.

A Classroom Transformed by the iPad

I found this great video over at iPads in Education, and I really love how well it shows the uses of iPads (or tablet computers) in the classroom. You can get some great tips about how to actually utilize the devices in your lessons. Watch how this teacher uses the iPads for so many different subject areas and classroom tasks. He uses the iPad for projects, class communication, collecting work, student exploration, and play. The kids are clearly engaged and empowered by their iPads, and it seems to make this classroom a fun and enriching place for these students.  I total agree with this they way he is useing the i pads. They are learning so much by shearing, and still doing this on there own.

  1. WOW!! Great video! I totally agree with you that iPads would be great to have in the classroom. I wasnt sure how well it would work out with students sharing an iPad, but after watching this video I can see that it could totally work and work very well. When two students share then they are not always on the iPad. This way they can still make use of some of the good old fashion ways of school. Such as writing and reading a paperback book. :) Im just amazed at how much there is to do on the iPad and they are a great way to keep students engaged. I know I would have much preferred to work on a iPad than sit at a desk all day listening to a teacher lecture. With the iPads you can do experiments, virtual fieldtrips and MUCH more.

  3. I do agree with jfeeney where the students are sharing they are not always on the ipad which is a good thing and it would also lower the rate of every child having one they will be suseptable to abuse the privelage by going onto different sites that they are not supposed to. I agree with this video and how it will keep the children entertained and engaged.
